What a Great Thing That Was

Last week I wrote about derailments in life . Sometime we are waylaid and sometimes there’s a train wreck. Both slow us down. The latter insists on a new mode of transport. I want to tell the next part of the Hushabye story and will soon but for now I am compelled to share an interesting happening and want to get your input too. My background as a kid and young adult was in acting, singing and dance. I found joy in them all. Dance for me was where I could allow my spirit loose. I wasn’t the best dancer. I was good. Loving in the Moment - When the Children Become the Parents (Part 4 of 4)

Annie and I at Mass the morning after our Aunt passed away. We would be telling Mom today. We decided to brave the selfie after we'd been sobbing for a good hour. Down the Rabbit Hole We Go

Taken from Washington Post I had never meant for this blog to be about my mother. But we go where the muse leads us so there it is. She’s taken a turn. I suppose “for the worse” is inferred… though not any more, because, well.. I just wrote it. But again… there it is. She has these episodes. Episodes? What is this? 1910? I hate the word seizure. Stroke. No one has used that word officially, really. But when you are eating your breakfast and suddenly take an ear dive to the right, have small tremors, and then return upright (because the nurse caught your fall in time) with slurred speech… ...one can infer a stroke. It happened twice. The first time was terrifying. I heard her over the phone. Couldn’t understand a word. It was a living nightmare. She could understand me, but her words were melted milkshake.
